NOAA by the Numbers - How to Cite

The NOAA by the Numbers website provides vetted scientific information that can help to communicate why our mission is important, and demonstrate the key role the agency plays in protecting US citizens and improving their lives.

The website is organized thematically based on the domains where NOAA has responsibilities. New entries will be posted, and updates to existing entries will be made as new information becomes available.

Each thematic entry contains a short description of what is at stake and the role NOAA plays. This information comes primarily from NOAA programs and peer-reviewed sources. We provide links whenever possible to the original sources, and we encourage people to explore these resources.

Please credit the Source of the data and not NOAA by the Numbers when using information from this website. Sources are found on the same page as the data. Please also check weblinks to ensure they are unbroken.
